The Terrability
By Rin Petweed
Life was easy for Klaus Katbergler, a financially successful fourth generation Australian. This all changed, when he came to terms with the bleak future the world faced, from environmental damage, ostensibly due to lack of good design. He directs his energies with fellow collaborators, towards the establishment of an experimental design base, which would demonstrate sustainable living, in order for the human species to survive.
His commercial experience and natural enthusiasm, soon attracts a groundswell of talented lateral thinking supporters. Unfortunately, his plans are thwarted, when he becomes the victim of concocted charges devised by former business colleagues. This results in a three and a half year stint in prison, where he is all but totally abandoned, by his fellow collaborators, family, and friends.
Nonetheless, his previous energies were not wasted. Working towards similar ideals in parallel, were no less than a legendary super race of tribal aboriginals. The leaders of this tribe realised, their continued existence depended on a collaborative fusion with their Caucasian conquerors. Particularly those, who were sympathetic to their indigenous thinking.
Upon Klaus’ release from prison, he discovers a design base has in fact, been clandestinely established in a remote part of Central Australia. On arriving at the base, he soon understands why no contact from his fellow collaborators, occurred whilst in prison. It was vital that this contemporary Shangri La, remained a secret from the outside world, until complete design perfection is achieved. Klaus Katbergler soon discovers, that all is not so perfect, in paradise…
