What kinds of sounds do animals make? Small Beginning: A-Z of Animals provides a fun and unique way to introduce nursery and primary school students to animals both wild and domestic. Parents and teachers can break the monotony of teaching alphabet repetition to young children with this unique approach to learning by onomatopoeia (pronounced on-ah-mott-oh-pee-ya). This is when pronouncing a word imitates its sound, such as a water drop “plops.” When it comes to animals: a cat purrs, a dog barks, a duck quacks, and a bee buzzes.

Stephen Olufemi Olabode hails from Nigeria. He attended Federal College of Education (Technical) Bichi, Kano State Nigeria, where he earned a certificate in mechanical engineering. He also earned a National Diploma (HND) degree in accounting at the Federal Polytechnic Offa Kwara State, Nigeria. He currently works for an engineering consulting firm in Abuja, Nigeria.
