Circle of Light by D. L. Westfall

About the Book

Westfall_Cover_WebAround 200,000 years ago, an emergency crash landing on Earth left the surviving crew of an Alvar star ship stranded. They rapidly discovered Earth was one of several worlds across the galaxy where their government had exiled their worst criminals, known as “Outcasts.” Faced with this somber news, the Alvar decide they must do whatever it takes to prevent the wreckage of their star ship from falling into the hands of the Outcasts.

Through accident or design, they alter the Earth’s makeup and timeline in such a way that they inadvertently give rise to the Homo genus, including Neanderthals and Homo sapiens. After the crash, the crew is divided into two camps – one deciding to remain in stasis with the wreckage, and the other deciding to establish a colony out on the surface of Earth. Thus, the two groups separate.

Circle of Light follows the group of Exiles, as they call themselves, who leave to establish their colony on the surface, and their adventures as they seek to defend their remaining tech and wipe out the Outcasts.

Their culture and actions help to further develop Homo sapiens, with the intent to shape them into vessels for their spirits to dwell after, as they must, they pass and reincarnate. By doing this they believe they can maintain a watchfulness over their adopted world.

Read of their new world, and their story – elements of which might seem familiar to some – and their adventures as they wait for their mother planet to come rescue them.

About the Author

D.L. Westfall is a fan of ancient alien stories as well as pseudo-history and intertwining them. He has always felt a connection to the “what if” stories and longed to deliver his own take on them. A sequel is in the works.
