The Man Whose Faith and Obedience Impacted The Entire World!

If you want to get God’s attention, you must have faith.

Hebrews 11:6: Attests that: without faith it is impossible to please God; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

So, in essence, we must first believe that He exists. Why would we seek someone that we do not believe exists? Why would we pray to someone we cannot see? Why we would follow someone and we do not know where they are leading us?

I am sure that Abraham had some of these same questions, but without hesitation, he left all and followed God. Yes, Abraham left his homeland and kinsman with only a word from the invisible sovereign God. God called Abraham out of UR, to an undesignated land, we later learn was Canaan. Unquestioningly, Abraham obeyed the command of the Lord and left all!

This act of obedience affected the entire direction of the world. It set in motion and set the stage for all humanity to one day be saved from sin and their separation from a Holy God. His act of faith and obedience made it possible for you and I to have an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father. The development of a nation that God will eventually use as His own, was birthed out of this single act of Obedience and Faith! I am intentionally, being redundant to express the importance of your obedience and faith towards a loving, rewarding God!

We clearly see by Abraham’s example, faith and obedience can impact generations well after we are gone. Our obedience to God is not only for us, but it is to overflow and affect others, our surroundings, our environment. Oh if only we really trusted God as we always proclaim. Oh if we only believed that God’s way is perfect. Imagine, the difference we could make in this world! Amazingly, over 7000 years later the world is still seeing and feeling Abraham’s submission to God’s command. Ask yourself, who or what have I impacted lately? How has my Christian walk positively affected someone or something?

When God give you a command, and see your faith moving in that direction, He will begin to unfold more details as you begin to move. Notice, Abraham’s faith caused him to begin moving. He didn’t stand still and say as most of us say” I am waiting on God to show me the details”! This man moved without knowing where he was going, and unlikely us, he didn’t have the indwelling Holy Spirit. No wonder God counted his faith as Righteousness! He did the right thing; trusted God and got to stepping! Usually, God will not disclose the entire plan to us, until He see our faith in action. Our faith is not based on our feelings, or whether it is a good move, it is based on our knowing and trusting God; taking God at His word. We quote scriptures, recite faith verses, listen to motivational and inspirational speakers, but will never move out of our comfort zone. Ask yourself, do I really believe that God exists? Do I really believe that God is a rewarder of faith? Do I really believe that God’s way is perfect? Once, again, Abraham said “yes” to all 3 questions and he moved when God say GO!

If you are unclearly as to where God is sending you, lets start with the command that Jesus gave all believers in Him:

Mark 16:15: Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

How many people have you shared the gospel with this year, this month, this week? “Your world” is wherever God has positioned you right now; your job, school, grocery store, wal- mart, target, restaurant, where ever you go, there is an opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ! Remember, your faith and obedience, is not only for you ; it is to impact and change lives and God will greatly reward you. Because of Abraham’s faith and obedience, salvation is available to all humanity!

Prayer:

Lord, show me the areas in my life that I am stagnant ,inactive and not as faithful and obedient as I should be. I surrender those areas to be quicken by your spirit, so I can make a difference where ever you place me. In Jesus name Amen!

Have a blessed day all!
