A troubled young teen named Exodus (or just “Ex”) has lost his sister, has a runaway father, and is moving away from his beloved childhood home due to family bankruptcy. The only thing keeping him sane is love for his mother and 6-year-old baby brother.

On the night of his thirteenth birthday, Ex has a run-in with a mysterious man who fills his head with questions about the truth of his misfortune, and threatens to take him back to a place called Odyssia. Distracting him from this crazy encounter is news of a new videogame coming out.

When Ex moves to the less-than-wholesome Toronto Town, he meets street tough Jared, who invites him to the videogame’s debut exhibition. Ex discovers the videogame and the mystery man on the night of his birthday are connected. His mother discloses that when Ex lost his memory in an accident years ago he forgot about Odyssia, the fantastical world he comes from.

Through means of a chronodelia, a flower that lets you watch memories, Ex’s mother lets him watch her recollections of Odyssia and how she met his father. Ex realizes that his mother has lied to hide their mystical roots. Upset at home, his newfound friendship with Jared and the street toughs grows stronger. The whole lie of Ex’s life is exposed at the videogame exhibition, where a new world opens up to Exodus … and his true destiny is revealed.
