I was born in Nigeria, growing up as a child, I developed a love for books, and I remember always wondering about how the minds of the writers work. To write great stories you have to have a pretty good imagination, to beautifully tell a story that will grip readers and make them feel like they are in that time and period. I would pick up books that drew me into the worlds of the characters and I usually found it difficult to stop reading until I got to the last page. I knew then as a child I wanted to write, I would sit and in my head I would make up stories but the problem I had, was how to beautifully get it all down.

I then set out to write short stories that I would read out to my family and they loved it, both my parents encouraged me to write but not really as a career. They saw it as a hobby; they wanted me to be a Doctor. But I am a hopeless romantic, I relish love so much so that I enjoy creating situations where I bring two characters from different worlds together and make them totally dependent on each other.

While I started to write these stories, I found my imagination began to develop. I was imagining more than I could write down, which at the time, felt like a problem, because as a child I hadn’t learnt to jot down ideas as they popped into my head and it made writing frustrating for me as I struggled to get the plots together. However, as time went on and I developed my love reading and writing, I learned to put down my ideas, which make the skeleton of my work as my main characters evolve. What then was one of my biggest problems then turned into strength.

Like most people, that have a passion for something but end up doing something different, I abandoned writing and went to study Microbiology. My parents wanted me to be a Doctor but a Microbiologist was what they got and I wasn’t content with what I was doing anyway. I had all these stories I had invented, living in my head, and I wanted to tell it to the world. Then I met my husband, got married and we began to have our children.

I love being a mother, so my husband and I made a decision that I should stay home while he worked. This time spent at home created a gap for something but I didn’t know what. The children were growing, and it was time I returned to work but I wasn’t looking forward to it at all. I was contemplating retraining myself to do something entirely different. I love being creative, I thought about becoming an interior decorator because I also love beautifying homes but I knew it wouldn’t be enough, I wouldn’t be satisfied. I was at a crossroad and I prayed to God to help direct me. I am very passionate about God, because God is love; so naturally, I had to ask my father for directions.

Then I had a dream and I saw myself on a queue, and each person that was on the queue at one point met with an Angel that told them something about their life and when it was my turn, I was told to write a book, and I asked what I should write about and the Angel told me what to write about. I remember waking up and telling my husband, I am not going back to work, I am going to write. He asked me what I wanted to write about, I could still remember vividly just like I do today what I was told to write and I started writing immediately. I wasn’t surprised it had to do with Love because as I said earlier, I can’t help it, I am all about Love. I wrote my first book Crossing Boundaries within six months, which is not yet published because as you know it is one thing to write, it’s another to get the book published. With crossing boundaries written, my husband asked what I was going to do next; I said I was going to write a book about Vampires.

I began to research the name for my main character and then I came across the name Sebastian and that was it, it was like magic. As soon as I wrote the name down, the character came alive and he began to tell his story and I just wrote it down and within another six months the main plots was written and I just had to read through and add the meat to the bone until the story was fully formed, which took me another two and half years to finally complete. The sequel Sebastian 2: Dark Times Arising is coming out soon. Watch out for it, I promise you, it is a delightful treat!

I am just going to get right to it, I always wanted to write something to tell you more about myself and why I love to write, but I didn’t know where to begin, what to include and what to leave out.
