im Davidson is a Christian businessman and a native of Gould in Southeast Arkansas. His career as a public speaker, author, and motivational consultant has spanned more than forty-five years. Some of his many awards and achievements include: Arkansas Salesman of the Year, Chairman of the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce’s Diamond Club sales organization, Justice of the Peace in Pulaski County, Chairman of Speakers Bureau of the Pulaski County United Way, Leadership Gavel recipient as voted by members of his Dale Carnegie Class, and honorary member of the DECA & GCE Clubs of Arkansas. He has also been presented with the “Good Neighbor Award” by the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce and is the 2010 “Distinguished Service Award” winner for Conway Public Schools. In November 2013, Jim was given a Senate Citation and the Conway Community Service Award by Senator Jason Rapert during a ceremony at the Faulkner County Library.<\/span><\/p>
In 1980, Jim began writing and producing a daily radio program titled “How to Plan Your Life.” It has been broadcast by over 300 radio stations coast to coast and heard by thousands of people each weekday. Later, in 1995, he also began writing a weekly newspaper column for his hometown newspaper, the Log Cabin Democrat, in Conway, Arkansas. With over 375 newspapers in thirty-five states running his column since its inception, it is believed to be the most successful self-syndicated column in the history of American journalism. Jim was a staunch member of the Conway Noon Lions Club for over 20 years, holding every leadership position and winning all their awards, including twice being named a Melvin Jones Fellow, the highest award in Lionism. He also served as Chairman of the Annual Golf Tournament and the Harlem Ambassador Fundraiser Event.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

I just received my copy and immediately searched for this article \"The Slight Edge-It Only Takes Two Percent\". I had read Jim's columns in my local paper and always remembered this one about persistence, extra effort. This reminded me of the reason for his success related to me my one of my mentors, Dave Ward, the school bus builder, who told me in 1969 that the reason he was one of 5 school bus manufacturers remaining out of over 200 at one time, was that he was \"the stubbornest man in America!\". These philosophies helped me develop my theory in business that hard work can make up for a lot of mistakes!<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

I totally enjoyed Jim Davidson\u2019s book, \u201cThe Best of Jim Davidson.\u201d Originally, I planned to leave it on my coffee table and read a little each day, or when I had time to rest, but I found it hard to put down. Each article intrigued me, and I kept reading until I finished the book within a day.<\/br>\nHis short stories entertain and show examples of good living practices that can help anyone young or old, rich or poor. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this new book.<\/br>\nThere are so many wonderful life lessons to apply from this book. The Best of Jim Davidson is a collection of vignettes meant to encourage and inspire. It does that with sixty short stories covering common-sense tenets ranging from the comical, innovative, and motivational to the sad, restorative, and eternal. It is a good read. It is pertinent to the defiant times we are experiencing. It is divergent in its presentation.<\/br><\/br>\n\nThese vignettes are usually wrapped with stage-setting comments and authoritative quotations. Such additions, stemming from their threshold radio broadcasts, add welcome weight and meaning.<\/br><\/br>\n\nAnother feature of this treatise is what the author calls a \u201cbathroom book.\u201d This term is not one in general use, but its application here refers to reading a few minutes at a time. In fact, the stories contain such deep thoughts and principles that a reader will need to stop and think about them before going on.<\/br><\/br>\n\nNot often is it necessary to point out the usefulness of the extras that accompany a written work, but it is in this book. For anyone who has need of speech material, of reference to wise ideas, or of a list covering any number of desirable practices, the Table of Contents and the Subject Index in this book will lead quickly to the topics presented.<\/br><\/br>\n\nI enjoyed the book as it mentions (sometimes in prose, sometimes in poetry) life-changing ideas, values to live by, natural laws that control, and manifold other precepts. For full disclosure, I have been friends with Jim Davidson a long time, and I believe this book reflects very well his positive mindset \u2013 one that can be useful to people.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

Each program \/ chapter will challenge you to reflect on your own ideas and philosophies. This book is wonderful for anyone who wishes to be an entrepreneur .
