About Laura Ann
First time author Laura Ann lives in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. She enjoys reading, and authors such as Danielle Steel, Diane Chamberlain, Debbie Macomber, and Shilpi Somaya Gowda have been true inspirations to her for a long time. She had thought about different careers such as office work and bookkeeping but discovered writing when she had the idea for her first book Lost Years: A New Beginning. Writing has become a true passion for her. She is getting close to finishing her second book The Perfect Sister and has already written down some ideas for a third book. When she is not writing, she enjoys spending time with family and listening to music. Country music is her favorite, and she likes listening to singers such as Alan Jackson, George Strait, George Jones, and many more.
Experiences and Achievements
I graduated from high school in 1990. I took Office Careers in 1994. It was an 8 1/2 month-long course, and the Certificate was for Automated Office Assistant. It included computer training and bookkeeping. I worked at Abbotsford Community Services from 1995 to 1996 in the Office Administration office doing phone reception and typing resumes. In 1996 and then again in 1997, I worked at J & E Custom Cycle where I did phone reception, tracking inventory, handling cash, and pricing parts. In 1998 I took Bookkeeping Levels I and II, payroll, and Simply Accounting at the University College of the Fraser Valley. From 2000 to 2001 I worked at the University College of the Fraser Valley in the Admissions & Registration office doing filing. From 2001 to 2002 I worked at the Student Union Society office in the University College of the Fraser Valley doing filing and phone reception. Right now I have been working at Tim Hortons, a fast-food restaurant, from 2004 to the present day doing clean-up work: wiping tables and washing dishes and utensils. In 2005 I took Taxes at H & R Block. For a long time, I never realized that I had the ability to write a book, and it has become my true passion. But I am glad that I learned a lot of office work because it has enabled me to do the computer end of it: typing and doing research on the internet.
Laura Ann and her Boss
This is a picture of my boss Sean Dyck and myself at my workplace Tim Hortons. He was impressed when I told him about my first book Lost Years A New Beginning. I gave him a copy of my book and signed it.
