Travelling Unchartered, Unconventional Unfamiliar Territory With God!

Psalms 25 10; All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and goodness to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.

The “unknown” can sometimes be fearful and perhaps, dreadful for many. Human nature likes to be in a position of control. We need to know all the facts and details, so we can make a sound decision and perhaps control the outcome of the situation. However, when we begin our journey with God, we will not have all the facts and details at the on-set of our unique journey. When we say “yes” to God, we are blindly and confidently trusting that His path and way is perfect.

Walking with God is trusting and believing His Word. We must know and believe that our God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. He knows everything, He’s been and is everywhere, and He’s all powerful! God knows everything there is too know, because all knowledge originates from Him. Therefore when He says “go”, He knows exactly where He is taking you, what hindrances you will face, what skills you will need and what level of resilience you will need. And this is all because He has been in your “tomorrow”!

Wow, I do not know about you, but this gives me peace and confidence to walk with God on this journey of the unknown. I may not know all the details up front, but I do know that His Word assures me that all His ways are perfect and all things work together for the good to them that love God , to them who are the called according to His purpose. If you love God and you know that He calling you or telling you to “Go”, rest assure that He has already taken care of everything, He will provide everything that you need for the journey! Allow that to take the fear out of the “unknown” for you life.

Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

If your heart posture with the Lord, is obedience, faith and righteousness, you can doubtless stand on this scripture and get ready to boldly travel unchartered, unpaved roads with the omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent God!

Joshua and Caleb are two biblical heroes that trusted in the power of God to follow Him into an unfamiliar land, which is later identified as the Promised Land, the land flowing with milk and honey. God had already promised this land to their forefather Abraham, therefore, in spite of what they saw in the natural, they didn’t lose focus that the Land was already given to them by God! It didn’t matter if the inhabitants appear to be stronger and mightier than the Israelites. They realized and knew the greatness of Jehovah God, they knew they served a God that is mighty in battle, they remembered how He delivered them out of Egypt, how He parted the Red Sea! What past victories can you recall, that will keep your focus on the Greatness of Almighty God?

Out of the 12 spies that went to scope out the unfamiliar, unconventional land, they were the only 2 that returned with a positive report, a more than a conqueror report. This is because they were looking through the lens of the Great I AM! Jesus tells us that He came to give us life and to give us life more abundantly (john 10:10). Who’s report are you going to believe, are you going to believe, what you can relate to with your natural senses or are you going to believe what Jesus said?

Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

The story of the spies are found in the book of Numbers, chapter 13. Their instructions from Moses was to go in good courage and bring back the good fruit from the land. They acknowledged that the land flow with milk and honey and had good fruit, but they feared the inhabitants of the land. They perceived them to be stronger and they perceived themselves to be as grasshoppers in their (the inhabitants) sight. This negative report from the 10 spies caused a rebellion in the Israel camp and because of their fear and unbelief only two (Joshua and Caleb) from this generation journeyed into the unfamiliar, unpaved land with God. And remember, this generation consisted of over 2+million Israelites, that didn’t enter what was already promised to them by God!

The Israelites didn’t trust God, they didn’t believe victory was possible, therefore, they forfeited their inheritance. They didn’t believe that God was able to perform and deliver what he had promised. Many of us today have forfeited or on the verge of forfeiting our inheritance, because we are looking at our own strength, resources, abilities or listening to others and not depending on the great power of God. We must move from being self- reliant to God-reliant.

To allow God to take you to unchartered, unpaved territory, you have to be like Caleb and Joshua, disregard yourself and look totally to the Grandeur of God! You will need to be intimate with Yahweh, you will need to know His character and that comes only from intimacy .You will have to unwaveringly stand on His Word. Many times the unfamiliar road will have giants, roadblocks and challenges beyond your comprehension. Just because God promised you the Land doesn’t mean that it will be clear of obstacles you may have to fight (in the spirit) to take what is rightfully yours; but we must remember, it is not by our strength or our finite power, but by His Spirit!

Don’t let the perceived giants cause you to forfeit your inheritance and not possess the land that God has already given you. Look at your road blocks, challenges through the eyes of Jesus and see them as grasshoppers!

Don’t be afraid to travel the unfamiliar, unconventional and unpaved road that God wants to walk with you!!

Lord, I stand against the spirit of fear, I will not allow it to operate, hinder, stop or block me from walking through and to unchartered, unfamiliar and unpaved territory with Christ. In Jesus name.. Amen!

God bless you in your awesome, fierce journey with Christ!

The Man Whose Faith and Obedience Impacted The Entire World!

If you want to get God’s attention, you must have faith.

Hebrews 11:6: Attests that: without faith it is impossible to please God; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

So, in essence, we must first believe that He exists. Why would we seek someone that we do not believe exists? Why would we pray to someone we cannot see? Why we would follow someone and we do not know where they are leading us?

I am sure that Abraham had some of these same questions, but without hesitation, he left all and followed God. Yes, Abraham left his homeland and kinsman with only a word from the invisible sovereign God. God called Abraham out of UR, to an undesignated land, we later learn was Canaan. Unquestioningly, Abraham obeyed the command of the Lord and left all!

This act of obedience affected the entire direction of the world. It set in motion and set the stage for all humanity to one day be saved from sin and their separation from a Holy God. His act of faith and obedience made it possible for you and I to have an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father. The development of a nation that God will eventually use as His own, was birthed out of this single act of Obedience and Faith! I am intentionally, being redundant to express the importance of your obedience and faith towards a loving, rewarding God!

We clearly see by Abraham’s example, faith and obedience can impact generations well after we are gone. Our obedience to God is not only for us, but it is to overflow and affect others, our surroundings, our environment. Oh if only we really trusted God as we always proclaim. Oh if we only believed that God’s way is perfect. Imagine, the difference we could make in this world! Amazingly, over 7000 years later the world is still seeing and feeling Abraham’s submission to God’s command. Ask yourself, who or what have I impacted lately? How has my Christian walk positively affected someone or something?

When God give you a command, and see your faith moving in that direction, He will begin to unfold more details as you begin to move. Notice, Abraham’s faith caused him to begin moving. He didn’t stand still and say as most of us say” I am waiting on God to show me the details”! This man moved without knowing where he was going, and unlikely us, he didn’t have the indwelling Holy Spirit. No wonder God counted his faith as Righteousness! He did the right thing; trusted God and got to stepping! Usually, God will not disclose the entire plan to us, until He see our faith in action. Our faith is not based on our feelings, or whether it is a good move, it is based on our knowing and trusting God; taking God at His word. We quote scriptures, recite faith verses, listen to motivational and inspirational speakers, but will never move out of our comfort zone. Ask yourself, do I really believe that God exists? Do I really believe that God is a rewarder of faith? Do I really believe that God’s way is perfect? Once, again, Abraham said “yes” to all 3 questions and he moved when God say GO!

If you are unclearly as to where God is sending you, lets start with the command that Jesus gave all believers in Him:

Mark 16:15: Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

How many people have you shared the gospel with this year, this month, this week? “Your world” is wherever God has positioned you right now; your job, school, grocery store, wal- mart, target, restaurant, where ever you go, there is an opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ! Remember, your faith and obedience, is not only for you ; it is to impact and change lives and God will greatly reward you. Because of Abraham’s faith and obedience, salvation is available to all humanity!

Lord, show me the areas in my life that I am stagnant ,inactive and not as faithful and obedient as I should be. I surrender those areas to be quicken by your spirit, so I can make a difference where ever you place me. In Jesus name Amen!

Have a blessed day all!

Make Me A House of Prayer!

Mark 11:17- Is it not written, My House shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

When we think of a house of prayer, usually the first thought and visual that enters our mind is a beautiful structured edifice where believers assemble to worship God. And that is true, the church building is our corporate place of prayer. But, friend, I want you to know that when God created you and I, His thought process was more than us worshipping Him in a building. His intent was and still is that we would be that beautiful house of prayer that would continually fellowship and talk with Him. And, that is exactly what prayer is; talking with God. God has always desired to fellowship, be involved and talk with mankind. This is first illustrated with Adam and Eve (before they disobeyed God) as the Lord God walked and talked with Adam in the cool of the day. Here we see God’s desire to be involved with the details and life of His most precious treasure, mankind!

Praise God, all is not lost, because of God’s grace, mercy and love for humanity, He has continued to reach out to reconcile, restore, and reconnect mankind back unto Himself!

Throughout biblical times, we see our loving God always finding Himself a remnant of people to work through, to show His love, strength and power. He provided them with the blue print to built temples for His presence, because He always wanted to be intimately involved with humanity. However, during this era the draw back was only certain people, which was the Priests were allowed to enter the temples on behalf of the people. Everyone did not have access to the Holy God! But oh my in His infinite wisdom, love, mercy and grace; God planned and designed a redemptive plan that would give everyone, people of every race, nation, creed the opportunity to reconnect to a loving God. The temple was constructed for the presence of the Lord to dwelling in, to be close to His people ( Although we know that God is omnipresent, He is everywhere at once). This was a metaphor to illustrate God’s desire to fellowship with his people and a shadow of things to come with the outpouring of His Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19 present to us a question that is worth mediating upon; What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (Spirit), which is in you, which ye have of God and ye are not your own?

Yes, we are God’s temple, we host His awesome Spirit, His powerful Presence! Just as the temples were designed for His presence, our bodies are designed for the indwelling of the Lord, through the person of the Holy Spirit. We are praying agents with the ability to release God’s power and authority within our environment, circumstances, and surroundings. We are God’s House of Prayer! Our goal as believers should be to develop prayer as a way of life; it is our life style! We eat, breath and sleep talking with God. God come first and then we will make time for everything else, not that we make time for God after we have completed everything else! Our God wants us to be saturated with a desire to fellowship and talk with Him daily. Imagine, you and I have access to our Creator 24/7, we can boldly, but respectfully approach His throne at any time and plead our case for ourselves and others. What an honor and blessing this is to continually be able to enjoy His presence.

Let’s be that strong, vibrant, bold and fierce House of Prayer and release God’s power and authority to a hurting and dying world!
