The Book of Life Preface

It is imperative that one day, we shall surely die and leave the surface of the earth (Hebrew 9:27) and meet face to face with our heavenly father – Almighty God why? To properly account of our lives – how we spend our life here on Earth.

The judgment will not be based on the type of church (body of Christ) we attended while on earth or the position we held in our churches or the functions we played in the church etc.

It will simply be based on our good deeds – only acknowledged by God himself (Revelation 20:12; James 2:14 – 17; Revelation 22:10 – 12; Mathew 25:35 – 40).

This is a prayer for my dear beloved readers, “God of infinite goodness, who has called me unto your vineyard to become fishers of men – just as the early apostles did (Mathew 3: 18 – 22). As many people that read this book, may you grant them the grace to be led by your spirit (Romans 8:14 – 15). So that they can live above Sin here on earth (Romans 8:8 – 9), become new creatures (2 Corinthian 5:17) and their names written in the book of life (Revelation 20:12), through Jesus – Christ our Lord” (Amen).

Introduction

In the first quarter of the year 2001, I had a dream. In that dream, I met an angel – of God, who asked me this question, “Do you know, there is a book called. “Book of life”.

I wondered and while I was still trying to give the angel a reply. He showed me a very big Book at a distance, from where we were standing. The book was adorned with sparkling golden colour – it looks really beautiful. When we approach the book, he opened it and said to me,” check, if your name is in this book? – book of life”.  I glanced through the book and saw several names there, I finally found my names (Surnames first name and middle name in that order), the last name in the list of the page opened although there were still some spaces left.

I did not remember the names. I just glanced through the names in the book – which I cannot vividly remember right now until I reached my own names. I wanted to look at other names and their numbers in the book but the angel said to me, “You are not permitted to do so, what is important, is that your name has just been added to this book – book of life”.

I didn’t mind him; I was still trying to glances at the names and their numbers in the book when the angels hurriedly close it. Then the angel said to me, “Do you now believe, there’s a book called, Book of life and that your name is written inside it”.

I replied, “Yes sir”. Then I woke up. This dream I just narrated to you, didn’t just come. It came as a result of my meditations upon, “Book of life”. I wondered, “Is there any book called, book of life? Does the book exist? How does it look like? And many more questions I can’t really remember right now.

Ever since that day, I have come to believe that there is a book called, Book of life – in which our deeds (both bad and good) are recorded, which will be used to judge us on the last day – judgment day (Revelation 20:12). It is important to note that not everybody’s name will be written in the Book of life and those written were there ever before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8; Revelation 17:8). No one knows the criterion God used or can challenge him – for he is a just God (Revelation 16:7; John 7:15 – 18).

The book tells us what we must do, so that our names be written in the book of life (Revelation 3:5; Revelation 20:15, Revelation 21:8; Revelation 22:15).

Most famous people of the world today sold their souls – very cheaply to the devil – Satan How? By worshiping him (Mathew 4:8-9) through its demons or angels why? For the main purpose of acquiring material benefit here on earth. These benefits include, fame, wealth or riches and power or influence. For heaven sake, how can someone exchange his or her precious soul the pleasures of this short – lived earth (Mark 8:36 – 37) and loose the kingdom of heaven – their names will not be found in the book of life (Revelation 20:12).

As you keenly read this truth revealing and spirit filled end – time message. May God – of infinite goodness, grant you the grace, to do away with the temptations of the devil – Satan and live a Holy life – acceptance to God himself. So that your names will be written in the Book of life (Amen).

Faith that Works Preface

Most of us-Christians this days, will never believe except we see sign and wonders. Christ’s early disciples too, never believed that Jesus rose from the dead. Why? It is because they did not have faith and were too stubborn to believe those who had seen him alive- Mark16:14; Mathew 28:16-17.

When Jesus first appeared to the Eleven disciples-after he appeared to two of Jesus followers on their way to Emmaus-Luke 24:13-35. He said to them, “Peace be with you”-Luke 24:36.

They were terrified, thinking that they were seeing a ghost but Jesus said to them, “Why are you alarmed? Why are these doubts coming up in your minds? Look at my hands and my feet, and see that it is I myself. Feel me, and you will know, for a ghost doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you can see I have”- Luke 24:37-39.

He said this and showed them his hands and his feet. They still could not believe. They were so filled of joy and wonder. So he asked them, “Have you anything here to eat? They gave him a piece of cooked fish, which he took and ate in their presence. Then he said to them peace are the very things. I told you about while I was still with you: everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the writings of the prophets, and the psalms has come to true”-Luke 24:44

One of the twelve disciples, Thomas, wasn’t with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the lord!”-John 20:25.

A week later the disciples were together again indoors, and Thomas was with them. The doors were locked, but Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you”.

Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at my hands, then stretch out your hand and put it in my side. Stop your doubting and believe!”- John 20:27. Thomas answered him, “My lord and my God!”-John 20:28.

Jesus said to him, “Do you believe because you see me? How happy are those who believe with seeing me!”-John 20:29

We – Christians of these days, never saw Jesus Christ in person but yet we believe in everything he commands us to do.

No wonder, the scriptures say, “Some, however, did receive him and believed in him, so he gave them the right to become God’s children. They did not become God’s children by natural means, that his by being born as the children of a human father, God himself was their father”- john 1:12-13.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to be judge but to be his savior. Whoever believes in the son is not judged but whoever does not believe has already been judged, because he has not believed in God’s why son”-John 3:16-
18.

INTRODUCTION

Faith is a supernatural gifts of God to believe without doubting. Faith centers round the act of believing. Most of us lack faith because we have doubts in our minds. It could also due to our bad motives or intentions.

Let’s see what the scriptures say about having faith. “When you ask, you do not receive it, because your motives are bad”- James 4:3

“Abraham believed God, and because of his faith God accepted him as righteous”-James 2:23; Genesis 15:6, Isaiah 41:8, 2 chronicles 20:7.

“So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions then it is dead”- James 2:17 “When you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all. A person like that, unable to make up his mind and undecided in all he does must not think that he will receive anything from the Lord”-James 1:6-8

Our Jesus Christ once told his disciples:

“I assume that if you believe and do not doubt. You will be able to do what I have done to this fig tree. And not only this, but you will be able to say to this hill, “Get up and throw yourself in the sea and it will. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer”-Matthew 21:21-22.

“Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to him who knocks”-Matthew 7:7-8

“I am telling you the truth: whoever believes in me, will do what I do-yes, he will do even greater things, because I am going to the father. And I will do whatever you ask for in my name, so that the father’s glory will be shown through the son. If you ask me, for anything in my name, I will do it” John 14:12-14.

“If you had faith as big as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, “Pull yourself up by the root and plant yourself in the sea! And it would obey you”-Luke 17:6 Let’s see the demonstration of faith in action. A woman, whose daughter had an evil spirit in her, heard about Jesus and came to drive the demon out of her daughter but Jesus answered, “I have been sent only to the lost sheep of the people of Israel”- Matthew 15:24. At this the woman came and fell at his feet, “Help me, sir!” she said-Matthew 15:25

Jesus answered, “It isn’t right to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs”- Matthew 15:26. That’s true sir, “she answered, “but even the dogs eat the leftovers that falls from their masters table”-Matthew 15:27Jesus said to her;“You are a woman of great faith! What you want will be done for you”- Matthew 15:28.

Again Jesus said to her, “Because of that answer, go back home, where you will find that the demon has gone out f your daughter”- Mark 7:29.

What happened when she got home? She went home and found her child lying on the bed.

Why? It is because the demon indeed as gone out of her.

There was a woman who had suffered terribly from severe bleeding for twelve years- and had been treated by several doctors, all to no avail. She heard that Jesus, was going to Jairus’s house-an official of the local synagogue. What then did she do?

So she came in the crowd behind him, saying to herself, “If I just touch his clothe I will get well”-Mark 5:28.

What happened to her? She touched his cloak, and her bleeding stopped at once and she had a feeling inside herself that she was healed of her trouble. At once Jesus knew that power had gone out of him, so he turned round in the crowd and asked, “who touched my clothes”-Mark 5:30. The woman had realized what had happened to her and came out trembling with fear, knelt at his feet, and told him the whole truth.

Jesus said to her, your faith has made you well, Go in peace, and be head of your trouble”- Mark 5:34

Let’s not forget that Jairus had earlier begged Jesus earnestly to come to his house saying, “My little daughter is very ill. Please come and place your hands on her, so that she will get well and live!”- Mark5:23. While Jesus was still talking to the woman with issue of blood.

Some messengers came from Jairus house and told him, “Your daughter has died. Why bother the teacher any longer?”-Mark 5:35.

Jesus said to him, “Don’t be afraid only believe”-Mark 5:36. When they-Peter, James, John and Jesus himself arrived at Jairus house, where Jesus saw the confusion and heard all the loud crying and wailing. He went in and said to them, “Why all this confusion? Why are you crying? The child is not dead-She is only sleeping!”- Mark 5:39. They laughed at him, so he put them all out, told the child’s father, mother and his three disciples, and went into the room were the child was lying. He took her by the hand and said to her, “Little girl, I tell you to get up!”- Mark 5:42. What then happened? They were completely amazed.

Our Lord Jesus Christ performed so many miracles outside his own town why? It is because the people do not have faith-he was greatly surprised. They wondered: where did he get all this? What wisdom is this that has been given to him? How does he perform miracles? Isn’t he the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sister living there? And so they rejected him.

Jesus said to them, “A prophet is rejected everywhere except in his home town and by his relations and family”- Mark 6:4, John 4:44, Matthew 13:57-58. When Jesus entered Capernaum, a Roman officer met Him and begged for help, “Sir my servant is sick in bed at home, unable to move and suffering terribly”- Matthew 8:6. Jesus said, “I will go and make him well”-Matthew 8:7. “Oh no sir,” answered the officer. “I do not deserve to have you to come into my house. Just give the order, and my servant will get well. I, too, am a man under the authority of superior officers, and I order that one, come! And he comes, and I order my slave, Do this! And he does it”- Matthew 8:8-9. When Jesus heard this he was surprised and said to the people following him, “I tell you, I have never found anyone in Israel with faith like this”- Matthew 8:10. Then Jesus said to the officer, “Go home, and what you believe will be done for you”- Matthew 8:13. And the officer’s servant was healed that very moment.

Divine Blessings Preface

A lot of people blame God for their woes, why? It is because they think their God who is supposed to know about their problems is not doing anything about it. Who then is to blame?

God or human beings? You can ask me again and again.

People forget that God – is omnipotent (all knowing and that God is full of compassion, slow to anger and swift to bless -Isaiah 55:7,Jonah 4:2,Exodus 3:6-7, James 5:11

Anytime His chosen people-the Israelites turn away from God. How?  By disobeying His commandments their enemies invade their territory or land but if they realize their sin and come to him, He restores them and blesses them.

For the bible says, “I do not want the death of a sinner but for him to repent and be saved”-Ezekiel 33:11

This books offers you twelve (12) steps you can take to attract God blessings- favour and restorations. Each step is contained in a given chapter of the book. As you read this book, may the lord help you to take these steps so that your joy may be full. AMEN

INTRODUCTION

God understands that human beings are mere mortals, so they are subject to by errors and limited in their thinking and believe-for we were created by dust and dust we shall return. The scriptures say, “Lord God took some soil out of it, he breathed life-giving birth into his nostril and the man began to live”-Genesis 2:7

“You were made from soil and you will become soil again”-Genesis 3:19.

When God completed the creation of the universe on the sixth day with the things inside it-Genesis 1:1-31.God created human beings-male and female, why? So that human beings can have dominion or power over all he has created-Genesis1:26-27. God placed everything in the universe under human beings care but gave a condition, saying “You can eat from any of the fruit in the garden except the one in the middle. The day you eat it, you shall die”-Genesis 3:2-3.

Did Adam and Eve eat the fruit in the middle of the garden? Yes, of course. They were deceived by Satan-the devil, who told to eat the fruit. That it will make them wise like God-knowing what is good from bad. Thus making them to disobey the commandment of God. So what happened?

Sin came to the world and they were severely punished-Genesis 3:14-17.Adam and eve fell out of God’s favour and were driven out of Garden of  Eden-Genesis 3:22-24.

All of us are descendants of Adam and Eve-Our fore parents. That’s why he scriptures says, “Everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence”-Romans 3:23.

“There is no one who is righteous”-Romans 3:10

“I have been evil from the day I was born from the time I was conceived I have been sinful”-Psalm 51:5.

“Sin came into the world through the man, and his sin brought death with it. As a result, death has spread to the whole human race because everyone has sinned. There was sin in the world before the law was given but when there is no law, no account is kept of sins but from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, death ruled over the whole human race, even over those who did not sin. The same that Adam did when he disobeyed God’s command”-Romans5:12-14.

Why not come to our lord Jesus Christ so that you will be restored back to God and attract his divine blessings and favours.

The chosen people of God-the Israelites on several occasions disobeyed God’s commandment and were severely punished for it-I think that’s typical of human being always falling in and out of God’s favour.

In one of this occasions Moses said to the people of Israel “If you and your descendant will turn back to the lord and with all your heart obey his commands that I am giving you today then the lord your God will have mercy on you. He will bring you back from the nations where he has scattered you, and he will make you prosperous again”-Deuteronomy 30:2-3.

“The lord will make you prosperous in all that you do. But you have to obey him and keep all his laws that are written in this book of his teachings. You will have to turn to him with all your heart”- Deuteronomy 30:9-10.

For Jesus Christ himself says, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one goes to the father except by me”-John 14:6

“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest”-Matthew 11:28.

“Apostle Paul says, “For there is one God, and there is one who brings God and human beings together, the man Jesus Christ”-1 timothy 2:5.

Prophet Isaiah once said to the people of Israel God told him to tell them, saying “You are stained fed with sin but I will wash you as clean as snow. Although your stains are deep red, you will be as white as wool –Isaiah1:18. What are you still waiting for? Come to your lord Jesus Christ to be restored to God and gain his divine blessings and favours-accepting to be a sinner and ready to make amends. For the scriptures say, “Salvation is to be found through him alone, in all this world there is no one else whom God has given, who can save us”-Acts 4:12.

“Whoever calls out to the lord for help will be saved”.-Acts 2:21

“I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them, and they will eat with me”-Revelation 3:20.

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and there is no truth in us but if we confess our sin to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right. He will forgive us our
sin and purify us from all our wrong doing. If we say that we have not sinned, we make God to be a liar, and the word is not in us”-1 John1”8-10.

“All of us have been sinful, even our best action are filthy through and through, because of our sins, we are like leaves that wither and are blown by wind.” Isaiah 64:6
