God’s intent for humanity was to be fruitful, multiply, replenish, have dominion and subdue every living creature that moved upon the face of the earth. God’s desire was and always is for mankind to be in total control of His earth. He wonderfully expresses this desire in Psalms 115: 16; The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, But the earth He has given to the children of men. What an awesome promise we have from our God! But it also causes me to wonder, why aren’t we subduing the earth and taking dominion?
Well, we know that Adam relinquished that authority when he chose to disobey God and with that disobedience, he gave the power and authority over to satan. Yes, Adam, literally handed over God’s precious gift to the devil! Not only did he give up mankind’s authority and power, he caused God’s most precious treasure to be spiritually separated from His Creator! Yes, that is you and I! However, because our God is insightful and all-knowing all wasn’t lost. God in His infinite wisdom, providential foresight had another plan to reconnect, restore and redeem mankind back unto Himself. Yes, beloved, that plan is and was our Glorious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
When we acknowledge, accept and identify with Jesus finished work on Calvary, He restores our relationship to become the sons and daughters of God and give us all power and authority over satan. He restore us back to our original Kingdom position. This is good news, we no longer have to be a slave to sin or the devil, Because of the indwelling Holy Spirit within us as believers, we have the power to walk and live a life that is pleasing to God. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, God expects us to grow, develop and begin to walk in dominion, subduing and taking authority over everything and anything that will try to block or stop our destiny or purpose.
Genesis 1:26 (amp)- Then God said, “le us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness and let them have complete authority over the fish, the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.
This is an awesome command! Beloved, this is God’s original intent for us. However, to walk in the power and authority that is rightfully ours, we cannot have a “victim” mentality. We must have a “victorious” mindset. We must always have a “more than conqueror” perspective. We must always see ourselves as God see us as mighty men and women, as mighty warriors. It is time to see ourselves through the lens of Christ, anything less will stifle our progression in re-claiming our life!
Jesus came so we may have life and have it more abundantly; in other words until God’s goodness over flow in us! I don’t know about you, but I want this! So many cannot enjoy the abundant life, because their minds are still enslaved, We have not allowed Christ to free us from things that are incarcerating our minds, our thought process. Let’s briefly look at the children of Israel and pray that we do not make the same mistake.
God physically freed them from slavery, bondage from Egypt, but an entire generation died in the wilderness. Although God took them out of Egypt, they didn’t allow God to take Egypt out of them! They maintained their “slavery” defeated and victim mindset. They did not allow God to develop their minds, so they could get to know Him, to trust Him. Today, I ask how many of us stop at salvation and do not yield to the Holy Spirit for further development of our mind? Jesus not only want to save us from eternal separation from God, He also wants us to live an abundant, fulfil and purposeful life on earth.
Scriptures warn us that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. He may not have physically killed us, but he certainly have robbed many of us of some valuables; such as peace, joy, purpose, love, family, job and the list can go on. I encourage us all to take inventory of our life and ask the Holy Spirit, what has the devil robbed you of? It is time you recover and reclaim your life in Jesus name!
Father, I thank you for opening my eyes and allowing me to see what the enemy has taken from me or what I unknowingly gave over. In the name of Jesus, I command satan to return everything that he has taken from me and my family. I thank you Father for restoring all that was lost, taken, and stolen in Jesus’s name!
